Calling all creative Brandeis alumni!
How would you like to put your best creative effort in front of Hollywood producers and New York marketing/advertising executives? What if you could do that and help your alma mater at the same time?
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is sponsoring B-ASSIST (Brandeis Alumni Supporting Students in Sustaining Tradition), a contest featuring alumni-created videos about their experiences as Brandeis students.
Through B-ASSIST, we hope to raise $50,000 for student scholarships, the University's top fundraising priority. Alumni videos will be posted on the B-ASSIST website, where alumni and friends can view, share, and comment on the submissions. Visitors to the site may also make a donation in support of today's Brandeis students and designate which video prompted their gift.
Work independently or collaborate with old friends and classmates to share your Brandeis story. Tell fellow alumni - through words, images, humor, music, however you choose - about your time as a Brandeis student. You can spend 30 minutes or 30 days on your project. Winning entries will be selected in several categories:
-- Best overall video (selected by alumni in the entertainment/marketing world)
-- Most popular (based on views)
-- Best fundraisers (based on money raised and number of donors)
We will begin posting videos about December 1. Winning entries may be screened at the annual SunDeis film festival in March. Examples of possible submissions:
-- Comedy sketch depicting well-known campus figures
-- Popular song with Brandeis-tailored lyrics ("Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah")
-- "Saturday Night Live"-style news broadcast
-- Letterman-style Top 10 list
-- Brandeis-themed TV commercial
All entries will be reviewed for suitability prior to posting. YouTube-compatible videos should be submitted to David Nathan, director of communications in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (dnathan1@brandeis.edu). Please contact him by the end of November to let him know that you are working on a video.
We look forward to seeing your videos. Have fun and good luck!
