Dear Fellow Seniors:
Wasn’t it just yesterday that we were filling out college applications and securing teacher recommendations? Now, as our senior year races along, it is job applications, GREs, and alumni networking that occupy our time.
As we start our final year at Brandeis, we have the opportunity to leave a legacy behind by making a gift to the Annual Fund. Since tuition only covers 48% of Brandeis’s operating costs, we have all benefitted from the financial support of the Brandeis community. The economy has affected Brandeis in many ways, and the University is working to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial situation, are able to continue their education.
It is because of this increased need for scholarship support that the Krupp family stepped forward with a scholarship challenge, pledging to match $1 for every $2 in new gifts made to the General Scholarship fund. What does this mean for us? We can take advantage of the Krupp Challenge by supporting future classes of Brandeisians, just as the earlier classes have supported us over the past three years.
We encourage each member of the Class of 2010 to make a gift of at least $20.10 so that we can maximize our support of other students and beat the participation record of 68% set by the Class of 2008. Participation, regardless of gift amount, is important because every gift helps Brandeis’s national rankings, thereby increasing the value of the degrees that we will shortly receive. We hope to reach 80% participation this year.
Simply return the enclosed pledge card with your gift, or make your gift with a credit card online at http://classof2010.brandeis.edu. If you would like to make your gift towards General Scholarship and The Krupp Challenge, simply select the “General Scholarship” fund on your pledge card.
As our Brandeis student experience begins to wind down, let's make a contribution that perpetuates the ideals of our class and supports Brandeis’s students as a whole.
Sincerely,
The 2010 Senior Gift Committee
