Mission and Values of the Department of Institutional Advancement
Brandeis University, because of its size and character, is unique in its ability to differentiate itself with donors on the basis of quality service. Our Institutional Advancement office strives to develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with our alumni and other donors that are based on a foundation of excellence. Our work reflects the standards of ethics adopted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
We responsibly and ethically promote philanthropy to maximize the resources raised in support of Brandeis University’s core mission and academically defined institutional priorities. We achieve this through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and university relations practices that are based on the service values of respect, responsiveness, courtesy, accountability, and timeliness.
This is best accomplished by creating relationships with all of our constituencies (both internal and external) that are based on these values, and by fostering a spirit of teamwork, trust, mutual support, and fairness in our relationships.
